Workshops

J.t.Art: Joh teaches Art

What workshops are there?

Sketching & Lineart

Created with Sketch.

Have you always wanted to start drawing and achieve a beautiful result using simple methods? Then come along and have fun with sketching and lineart!

In this workshop you will find out how to sketch quickly using simple techniques and get to the point of the most important features. Different types of pens and paper will help you find the right sketching material for you.
If you are ready for the next step, you will also work with ink markers and create your own lineart image. I will show you how to achieve great results with the different pens, support you every step of the way and help you with any questions.

Aquarell & Gouache

Created with Sketch.

Even kindergarten children paint with watercolours. But actually mastering different techniques and being able to paint down a vision with a brush takes some practise. You can get this practise in my workshop!

You'll learn a little bit about materials and techniques, and you'll also get to try out different types of watercolours and gouache.
You will soon notice that different types of paper can be used to achieve different effects until you have found the right materials for you and can work on your very own painting.

Bookbinding

Created with Sketch.

If you want to know how to bind your own books and notebooks at home using simple methods, this workshop is the right place for you.

Bookbinding is an art that needs to be learned. With a thread, needle, paper and a little patience, I can also show you simple steps on how to make your own notebook or sketchbook.
You can decide which paper you use, what size your book should be and you can also choose from different cover types. If you want, you can even make a spiral notebook!
My goal is to pass on to you my joy of paper and what you can do with it - and to infect you with notebook fever! ;-)

If you really liked a workshop or are interested in a specific topic and would like to do a workshop with friends or family, I can offer you a completely individual workshop!

Other Infos

Group Size

Created with Sketch.

Depending on the location and topic, five to ten people can attend my workshops. I'm also open to larger groups, but it's best to ask specifically!

Material

Created with Sketch.

I bring all the materials to my workshops that I actually use for my projects. Pens, brushes, paints, but also various types of paper and equipment - everything is provided by me.
It is important to me to show the participants in the workshops that it is possible to do high-quality work without having to purchase the most expensive materials. I try to set my budget in the middle, sometimes maybe even in the upper third, in order to find the right materials for me - and you.

Costs

Created with Sketch.

The costs for a workshop vary depending on the topic, duration and location. (Prices are per person, include materials and exclude VAT.)

  • Sketching & Lineart Basics from €24
  • Watercolor from €30
  • Bookbinding from €40

For example, if you book a workshop for yourself and friends, but I have to travel more than 20km, I will charge extra.

Language

Created with Sketch.

If you can't speak German I can hold the workshop in English. But please remember that English is not my first language so I can't guarantee to know every professional term without looking up! 🙈
